HELLO EVERYBARDI!!!
After a year of hiatus, I'm finally backkkk! And hopefully it's for good this time hehe. I'm still tryna get used to penning my thoughts down once more so please pardon me if I sound awkward lol.
The past year has been really hectic but I ain't complaining! At least it beats spending hours alone with absolutely nothing but your thoughts to consume you. Joining the different activities in school has actually kept me going the whole time. Can't imagine just having to face my prof and notes and projects all day, especially since I can never sit still with a book right? Haha but hey, I'm improving! Who knew Adeline could coop herself up at home to study for 3 whole weeks, but she just did!
So since we're on the topic of school...... this comeback post shall be all about schoooool! I know it's quite unbelievable that I'm doing so many things in school now because the Adeline in the past couldn't be bothered. It started off as an apprehensive try at a carnival org comm for Bonanzar. Then you try out for another planning committee to get a taste of how it's like to do an event on a whole new level, then you decided to help a friend out for her event, and then you joined another because it centers around your passion, and before you know it, you've committed yourself to so many things and you wanna make sure they all turned out well.
Freshmen Teambulding Camp
FTB was the greatest event I committed myself to during summer. While everyone was busy traveling/interning, I was getting myself busy in the forest, away from civilization lol. After the 4 long months of planning and 8 runs of camp, I swear never to set foot in that God-forsaken place of Sarimbun ever again. Think army boot camp with no entertainment or Internet, and the worst sleeping and sanitation conditions, I almost died. But it still pays to see your freshies enjoying your events and facis become one big family after the camp. As event directors, the flash mob, mass dance, finale night were Amanda and my babies, and it was so heartwarming to see the outcome after all the sweat and blood. At least everything paid off :)

Bondue Camp
So besides planning a camp for the entire school, I was a faci and agreed to help out in the PR team for Bondue Camp! Idk what went wrong in my mind to agree to this because it means 3 more runs of camp, like I haven't had enough of them lol. I admit that sourcing for sponsorship doesn't take up as much time as planning the activities for the camp, but I can assure you it doesn't seem as easy as it looks. I never knew I would spend hours refining a sponsor email, giving up my sleep just to draft out a proposal for a sponsor, and the miles we travel just to meet sponsors for a handshake or two. Ok I'm exaggerating but you get the idea. Still, it was a great experience coupled by the freshies that Linghan and I had in our group, they all made this summer commitment worthwhile!

Fashion, glamour and good-looking people plus charity; why would I give such an event a miss? Hehe and it proved to be a right choice because I made a bunch of awesome girlfriends from my programmes team, and not to mention they are all so prettaye! It was indeed an eye-opener for me since this mountain bumpkin has never been to an actual fashion show before (Now don't judge). Plus the feeling you get when you see our models grow from a bunch of clueless strangers to a group of closely-bonded and confident models is priceless. So overwhelmed when I watched them from the side stage as they strut down the runway, so poise, so amazing. So proud of them :')

After being in so many org comms and what not, I was convinced into joining Bondue haha. Can't believe I actually put myself out there for everyone to judge, and not to mention the outrageous posters I had. It's a surprise I didn't die from embarrassment lol. Let's hope I don't regret this!
Through the entire campaigning, I'm so glad to have a bunch of really amazing friends in school who are ever so supportive of me. Without them, I wouldn't have had the courage to run for this. What more can I ask for?

I bet all of you are thinking that I'm a nerd now haha but trust me when I say this, go out and try different things, even if it's just that tiny bit of interest cause you wouldn't know what you will gain from it. So having said that...... SMU friends and juniors who chance upon this, COME JOIN MY ORG COMM HAHA.
I can't guarantee that everyone will love it, but at least it'll be an experience worth you trying for :)
